lent 2022

The Season of Lent, a time for focus and preparation as we prepare ourselves to receive the gifts of righteousness and salvation through the death of Jesus on the cross 2,000 years ago.

Lent is the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and the start of Easter, without counting the Sundays.  It is a time of preparation   During this time we are to prepare ourselves for the gift which Jesus granted to all believers when he died on the cross and then three days later rose from the dead.  The purpose of Lent is to spend our time reflecting on our own lives, repenting of our misdeeds and misgivings, spending time in prayer and communion with God.  We do this by fasting, thinking about our faith, sharing our faith with others, and most importantly growing in our own faith by reminding ourselves of our love for Christ and his sacrifice.
